GRAUMAN’S CHINESE THEATRE ANNOUNCES “25 CENT FAMILY FLICKS”
AS IT CELEBRATES ITS 85th BIRTHDAY

On Saturday Mornings At 10AM During July and August, All Seats 25 Cents at Chinese 6, Just like 1927 Opening Day! $2 Parking!

( Hollywood , Calif. )---The most famous movie palace in the world, Grauman’s Chinese Theatre (www.chinesetheatres.com), is turning 85 years-old and today it announced a 25 cent-a-ticket offering for families on Saturday, starting July 7, at its Chinese 6 theatres.

Turning back the clock, the legendary theatre is offering a 25 cent admission Saturdays only during the months of July and August, at the Chinese 6, when it will feature a classic family film at 10 AM each Saturday as part of its “25 CENT FAMILY FLICKS.”

FEATURED FAMILY FILMS AT 10AM EVERY JULY-AUGUST SATURDAY:

7/14 Madagascar 1
7/21 Puss in Boots
7/28 Kung Fu Panda 1
8/4 How to Train Your Dragon
8/11 Megamind
8/18 Monsters Vs. Aliens
8/25 The Spongebob Square Pants Movie

The lights in the theatre will be left on throughout the film so you can see your kid if he or she gets up to wonder around and Grauman’s Chinese 6 will also have Booster seats for kids on hand.

As part of its “25 CENT FAMILY FLICKS,” stadium seating is also featured so kids can see better---and offering something brand new: Grauman’s Chinese will feature yummy healthy snacks, as well such as yogurt, granola bars, mini cereal boxes, fruit, etc. All adults must be accompanied by a kid—and vice versa—and the price again is a 1927-style 25 cents per person per film

Today, The Grauman’s Chinese Theatre forecourt is among the world’s most photographed tourist sites, annually attracting as many visitors as the Sistine Chapel at The Vatican.

The Chinese Theatre handprints-footprints ceremony is rich in tradition and provides the over four million people a year who visit the site an opportunity to experience the lore of Hollywood up close, for here lay the handprints and footprints of Hollywood ’s most notable talents.

Unlike any other award in Hollywood , be it an Oscar® or a sidewalk ceremony, The Chinese Theatre handprints-footprints tribute is the most selective of all, since over the course of nine decades, only 250-plus such honors have been presented in some 208 official ceremonies.

Movie exhibitor Sid Grauman, who was one of Hollywood ’s best known and most creative showmen, opened The Chinese in 1927 and launched the handprint-footprint ceremony to honor, in a meaningful and unique gesture, selected and worthy stars at his red carpet premieres and first run films.

In any given year, The Chinese Theatre, and its adjacent Chinese 6 Theatres complex, hosts over 40 red carpet film premieres, including those for internationally-acclaimed film franchises, such as “Star Wars” and “Harry Potter.”
